Phase 1: Research and Analysis

Intent analysis: What is the primary search intent? Informational, transactional, navigational, or commercial?

Related keyphrase discovery:

  • Primary keywords the page should target
  • Secondary/long-tail keywords it is missing
  • LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing) terms related to the topic
  • "People Also Ask" questions for this topic

Competitive snapshot: What do top-ranking pages cover that the current page does not?

  • Subtopics competitors address
  • Data points or statistics they include
  • Questions they answer
  • Content depth differences

Gap identification: Specific content gaps between the current page and what a comprehensive, ranking-worthy version needs.

Phase 2: Content Rewrite Rules

  1. Match or exceed the word count of the top-ranking competitor (check what ranks #1 first)
  2. Include primary keyword in: H1, first paragraph, at least 2 H2s, meta title
  3. Include 3-5 LSI terms throughout the body naturally
  4. Break long paragraphs into 2-3 sentence max chunks
